Zel the Soulsmith in the 3rd Era of the Age of Land. Granite-skinned humanoids with glass eyes and mellifluous, resonant voices. They were named by Zol, the first of their kind. All Zoel come into being fully formed with thought and language, emerging from the lake in the shallow water reeds where Zol was made. They lack gender and do not reproduce, but do form familial relationships. Their population numbered in the hundreds originally, but grew to a few dozen thousand in the early years of the World’s other races. Thereafter, new Zoel came into being only very rarely, as the need to replenish themselves vanished with the divine blessings of Zel.
